And I am back to the seaside!
"The border town"
Zhuhai could be called a city or a town - depending on your perception of what the latter and former are. One million population, majority are Cantonese speaking. It is a pleasant place, with less traffic compare to bigger cities nearby (like Shenzhen or Guangzhou), lots of parks and greenery. Great public transportation system. It is located right next to Macao border and there is a small port that has ferries running to HK and Shenzhen (and some other destinations).
I came to live here after living for 4 years in Beijing. And at first I thought it was boring and small. But day by day I discover new things and meet new people - folks are NICE here! - and I really hope we don't have to move from here.
So, if you are on your way to Macao and you have some time, stop for a day in Zhuhai, take a trip to Gongbei district to see the busy streets filled with vendors and shops, take a walk by the sea in the infamous Lover's Road, cross over to the Island behind Jusco. And just enjoy friendly atmosphere :-)
