Zhuhai for shopping?

I will be travelling from SIN to GZ to Macau and was pondering if I is worth it to stop over at Zhuhai for a few nights or go direct to Macau?

I will be into shopping so wondering if Zhuhai offers any good buys? i.e apparels and shoes

Zhuhai has quite a good lot of shopping - of different range. Some shops sell pretty good quality shoes and the designs are trendy. If you happen to catch them on sales, they are really very good buys. You can stop over maybe for a night but i don't suggest that you stay more than 2days unless you are a shopaholic. Staying in Zhuhai is much cheaper than than in Macau though and food is cheaper too...

Thanks. Care to share any shopping venues? Most likely to stay in Gongbei so more convenient to hop on the Macau the next few days.

Once you are at Gongbei (immediately after the immigration), cross over the main road to reach "Lian Hua Lu" (Lotus street) - This is after the main bus station which is almost opposite Gongbei. Along both sides of Lian Hua Lu, there are a lot of shopping stalls. Walk further down, you will see some large departmental stalls. Some shops sell cheaper range of goods while some sell quality goods. Both a pair of nice soft booths for 190yuan (that was during one of the sales) - and after one year, they are still looking good :) Also got hold of some real nice sweaters and Ts. Happy shopping!

Care to share any reputable 3 star hotel?

Prefably near Gongbei and shopping area. How about Jinye Hotel, Jumbo Hotel, Regency Hotel? Or other cheaper alternatives? I am willing to pay up to CNY350. A balance between convenience and comfort.

Thanks alot. There are really limited choices on the net.

So when smoking, keep this in mind ... I agree, loving tea at any moment of the day. Tea is tasting like ..., smelling like ... and not just a ordinary beverage. I always enjoy reading about the Chinese tea legends and sagas, named "Chao Dao", even accepted by Japan who took over the Chinese art of making tea. So ofcourse I got myself my Chinese green tea; a famous product you can buy literally eanywhere!

"Things to do - See snippets of Qing Dynasty"

The cultural show about Qing Dynasty is worth watching. The last scene, mostly performed at a lake, seems realistic enough, especially when the cannons boom. Better to take something to shut out the loud bang and be mentally prepared otherwise we can suffer from a sudden shock!
