popoko hotel
As we enter the hotel on my right side I saw a big display cabinet selling assorted things like souvenir but I notice majority of what they sell are condoms, contraceptive pills, men sex enhancing pills etc. and you can also see many things like that inside your room.
The room is spacious but the bed is so hard I can not find a comfortable sleep, the staff is good even the fact that they can speak very little english
Honestly I can not recommend this hotel specially with kids,

Never again!
Rates themselves 3 stars!! In their @#$% dreams!!
Stayed 6 hours Dec 2007 to wait for the border crossing to open into Macau. Some of the longest 6 hours of my life. Why??
1. Old, smelly, disgusting room. Upgraded to less old and less disgusting "executive" room sprayed with cheap, sickly-sweet perfume.
2. ONE elevator operating for a 100+ room hotel, in desperate need of ventilation from all the retards smoking in it. Can you hold your breath for 3 minutes in the lift to get to and from your room to the lobby?
3. Full of working girls and their clients. Condoms and "enchancers" displayed prominently in the rooms. Definitely not for families with kids, or even to bring along your wife! Propositioned by pros almost every time I was in the single lift.
4. Reception staff understood less English than one of the "tea" boys.
In short, STAY AWAY!!!

Good Deal
Popoko is a big hotel from the look of the entrance. Once you entered, notice the 'old woody' smell of the building. Don't be taken a back cuz the room doesn't smell like it.
$$ paid for July2008 - 210RMB / 31 USD
Unique Quality: Ample space for a Standard 2 single bedded. Attaached bathroom.
Clean well light with window - view to the main road.
No traffic noise.

Budget hotel at Zhuhai near to Gongbei
Hi, I will try my best to answer your questions:
Of all the hotels you listed, I stayed in Popoko hotel before. The hotel is within walking distance to the Gongbei border checkpoint - about 10 minutes walk. A nearer hotel to Gongbei border checkpoint is the Jinye hotel which I believe is better and therefore cost more than Popoko. I don't know about www,easyzh, but I booked the rooms at http://www.sinohotel.com most of the times I went there. If cost is your consideration, Popoko hotel is the choice. Most of the rooms face one side of the sea. The hotel also has a restaurant which serves Chinese food. The dim sum in the morning is great in terms of price! Let me know if you need any other tips.
