Is there an "easy" way to get from Lijiang to Guilin? it seems a bit difficult .Do I get a flight from Lijiang to Kunming and then another one from Kunming to Guilin? Or maybe there is a train- I can't find one on the Internet.. thank you
Yes, you'll have to transit in Kunming, whichever way you go. Both legs can be done by overnight sleeper bus (Lijiang--Kunming) or overnight sleeper train (Kunming--Guilin), or flight. Which one you choose would be dependent on your budget and timing preferences.
Fishermen use cormorants to catch fish and return them to the boat. The fisherman drive the birds into the water where they dive below the surface in search of fish. When the birds catch fish they return to the boat and the fisherman removes the fish from their throat and places them in the basket. The secret is that the fisherman places a cord around the bird's neck to keep the bird from swallowing the fish plus they hand-rear them from chicks and train them to fish for them.
The water from these springs, three hours from Guilin by rail, is considered sacred by the minority Yao people and has been used for thousands of years as a cure for many ailments. In five square kilometers, there are 10 natural springs of temperatures up to 80°C.
A 2 hours ride by bus to the northwest of Guilin is Longsheng. The rice terraces are a picturesque site. You can hike through the fields on your own, but there is a visitor's tax. You can book organized tours from Guilin and also from Yangshuo, which is southeast of Guilin (1 hour drive more). In Longsheng are also possibilities to eat and sleep.

Ok, what could i do after that? A good tea. Tea in China is something special, so so special. And in the quiet of Guilin, and specially in the quiet of its river, and specially after a snake drink, a good tea is a "Must Activity" to relax and appreciate the wonderful sceneries around.
Chengyun Palace is one of the main buildings within the Princes City which was built in 1372. It later became the office of the Guangxi government and today is home to a small museum with a model of the park.
