Flight to Lijiang and Train from Kumming

Will fellow VTs enlighten me on the following:
(1) Flight from Guilin to Lijiang in Yunnan. What is the cost of the flight and the flying schedule;
(1) Train from Kumming to Guiln, the cost and the departure schedule.

I don't think there are direct flights between Guilin and Lijiang. You would likely go Guilin Chongching or Guangzhou and then go to Liajiang. there be small airlines that cover the route though.

No direct flights I believe, you'll have to go through Kunming. Flight schedules are seasonal so please indicate when you're travelling.

K182 (1755--1153) 17h58min
K394 (1823--1243) 18h20min
Price would depend on your choice of seat, sleeper/bunk.

Guilin Train Station

Guilin Train Station is strategically located along Zhongshan Nanlu. It is near to lots of hotels and shopping stalls - well, it is along the busiest road of Guilin. The station is swarmed with lots of people - locals and visitors. During weekends, it's really horrendous - lots of local tour groups arriving via the trains. At this station, you can purchase your tickets to the various provinces of China. Tickets are best purchased in advance. The tickets are electronically generated as such the seat number and timing are clearly stated in your ticket.

Li River Odyssey

This idyllic 83-kilometre boat ride down the Li River from Guilin to Yangshuo passes through a dreamlike landscape otherwise seen only in art galleries. Li River tours are easily arranged through your hotel or China Travel Service.
A cruise on the Li River

A common tourist half day trip is a cruise down the Li River. The river is not polluted and is central to getting around in the area. It has many uses for the local residents. A relaxing cruise with a good meal or a photography opportunity...I enjoyed the sites.
River Life

Along with enjoying the incredible scenery ,as we sailed along the Li river we also had a chance to get a glimpse of what life was like living along the banks. WE saw people washing clothes in the river , swimming and walking their water buffalo back to their farms.
'Talking' with the Fishermen

Once the fishing display finished, and we got back on dry land, I still hadn't really figured out about the Cormorants not eating the fish they caught - they aren't exactly vegetarian after all!
Well I couldn't speak any Chinese, and the Fishermen couldn't speak any Chinese, but I have found that Chinese people seem to consider it perfectly normal for someone to come up to them and look at what they are doing. They don't seem to get upset or to even look as if you are in their space. typically they will try and help you!
Anyhow, I gestrured to the fishermen that I wanted some pictures by pointing to my camera and pointing at them. They were perfectly happy to oblige!
