Excellent 3 Stars Hotel
I stayed in March 2011 in this hotel, and enjoyed its 3 Stars service. Very clean, 2 elevators, (one with round outside windows) , nice furniture, good bathroom, plenty of accesoires,
(the first time I had a complete transparant lavabo).
Business room was equiped with one flatscreen TV and one personal computer with flatscreen. Excellent beds.
Good service at reception, but english a bit limited, so speak VERY slowly with a smile....
Nice lounch with original woodscrulped furniture.
The only con is the distance between this hotel and the city-center, some km, so you'll need a taxi for shopping etc. Perhaps there is a busconnection ?
Unique Quality: There are two restaurants in this hotel, one rather luxurious with great choice of meals, (most Chinese) and high quality service, and the second more daily eating, but good quality and breakfast service included. (but also Chinese)
Overall this hotel has an excellent high tech equipment.
In my opinion, this Hotel deserves really 3 Stars.

Has anyone been from Nanning to Hanoi on non organised trip? We are looking to go in December and are wondering what visa to get. We want to buy a double entry, however are not entirely sure about the date we will get back into China and therefore might buy a multiple entry? Any thoughts?
Any comments about the border crossing and back would be appreciated.
Re: Vietnamese Border
What country are you from? It is not yet in your profile.
China recently changed their visa policy for US citizens. US citizens now pay the same amount for most visas types. So a multiple entry good for 1 year cost the same as a single entry good for only a short time.
Re: Vietnamese Border
You'll usually just need a double-entry. What nationality are you?
Travel Tips for Nanning
Lost in Nanning on overnight stay our first time there: somewhere between provincional bus terminal and train station. Just when we began to celebrate the Chinese new year and were on the way 'home' to Laos. Long way, we were stuck somewhere.
Second time in Nanning: we were there to catch the train to Beijing. Two nights, one I had to spend in the hospital, getting infusion. Next day - after sleepless night everything was fine.
Nanning is just a huge town I wouldn't like to go back again if I don't have to.... simply, because when you get lost in the city everything looks about the same. It has this transit feel anyway and it's provincional capital, in the province of very diverse population.
