Blooper Photographs
by albaaust
I put this in for Guilin so apologise if you read this twice. It is relevant for both places!!
I only realised this when I got home. Travelling through such breathtaking scenery you get so "blown away" as you click that you don't see the finer details!!
As you take the photos be aware of minute things which afterwards you'll be saying "I wish I had noticed that!!" eg some of my mistakes...other people taking same photo and somehow they end up in your photo which could have won a prize!!(and you cannot edit them out?##).....power lines....poles in the corner...not allowing for light/sun at the camera..

Famous Past Time of the Locals .....
by myspices
The famous past time over here seems to be gambling - playing cards. You can see the locals gathered around, anytime of the day, when they are not busy with the activities, engrossed in a game of cards. Many of the street tour- operator pedlars, ferry/rafts operators will either sit around, under a tree or any shade betting on the game. The local police seems oblivious to this activity - I guess it is legal after all....
Biking around Yangshuo
by Guantanamera
Biking is one of the most relaxing and enjoyable ways to experience the marvelous scenery around Yangshuo... Bikes can easily be rented in Yangshuo town, usually for about 10 RMB per day, ranging up to 15 to 20 RMB per day during the high season... Make sure you get a rugged mountain bike, not just a road or city bike, because some of the paths you will be riding on are very rough and rocky... Also, take care riding through the heavy traffic in the center of Yangshuo town as it is typical Chinese style chaos...
Electric bus/tram
by myspices
If you are coming in from Guilin to Yangshuo via the boat cruise along the Li Jiang river and you have a huge and heavy luggage with you, you can board this electric bus/tram when you get out from the Quay. This is really convenient as you don't have to lug your luggage all the way to the centre of the town. The station for these electric buses/trams is just outside the Quay. These buses are also seen around town centre if you want a tour around the town. Cost should be less than 10yuan per journey.
Best place in town!
