Worth the visit!
We stayed here from the 28th Sept to 2nd Oct 2008. 99% of the staff were superb and cannot do enough to help you.
Rooms are superb, with the room we had having both bath and superb rainfall shower!
Facilities were top notch throughout and the restaurants, although expensive, provided good quality food. Breakfast was the only disappointing thing really where their service slipped due to how busy they were.
Room rate was excellent value for money (850RMB/night).
Hotel-Airport collection and drop-off was very expensive at 350RMB each way, but saved the hassle of taxis.
Hotel is a little far from anything and taxis are needed to get to other restaurants / shopping etc.
Overall, well worth the visit!
Unique Quality: A whole range of pools to suit everyone with hot-tubs on the edge of the main pool. Rubber rings are not allowed in the main pool, although no problem elsewhere which personally (even though I have a young child) I thought was good.
Chinese food in the Jade restaurant was very good and the buffet they do was superb.
Whilst we were there they had a group playing music who were superb and thoroughly entertained all ages, worth going for them alone!

Best Business Resort in Hainan
The Sheraton Haikou Resort is newly opened in October 2005. I have been there myself now several times and have to say this is a welcome hotel on Hainan. The service is great, fantastic facilities, you can see they put a lot of effort in building this hotel. The prices are right, the quality of food stands out. The rooms are spacious, beautiful garden with free Hot Spring Pools. Excellent property.
Unique Quality: They are build on a hot spring, so all the water flow through the pipes in the shower and bath are natural spring water.
Thai SPA manager and foreign faces that always have time to chat and advise. Since the opening there is this very friendly Dutch guy.

HongKong to Hainan
We plan to get to HK by Cathay Pacific and then from there to Hainan. is there any direct flight to Hainan from HK?
Also , any recommendation for a free and easy tour for family in Hainan, any nice family hotel anyone would recommend?

There are direct flights from Hongkong to Sanya (in the south of hainan) a few times a week with Dragon Air and China Southern. You might get a reduction for Dragon Air, when your international ticket is with Cathay and the Dragon Air ticket is booked in advance. Ask your travel agency!
Near Sanya are some nice beaches. I recommend the Resort Intime, which offer a central location and good beach. Ask for the rooms with ocean view!

You can go two places: Sanya and Haikou. The advantage of Haikou is that there are more things to do and to see. Sanya has a nicer beach.
There are daily direct flights from HongKong to Haikou with Dragon Air, China Southern, Hainan airlines. Easy to find out.
I have been in Haikou many times and the best hotel there is the Sheraton Haikou Resort; beautiful garden, attentive staff, nice pools and lots of facilities. Rates are very good in Haikou compared to Sanya.

Yes, there are direct flights from HKG to SYX. Dragon air and Hainan air are more expensive than South air. And as far as I know there is not flight every day from dragon air and Hainan air is small plane, not so safe. There is 1 flight every day from South Airlines. Details, pls see below:

For nice family hotel, I'd like to recommend Resort Intime and Resort Horizon.
Resort Intime is a valuable hotel, which has low price and nice environment. It is said that Resort Intime has the best beautiful garden in Dadonghai. As for Resort Horizon, it's well-known that there are most and best children facilities in Resort Horizon. More details, please see below:
