I had been to Hainan dao traveling alone and found it very save and enjoyable, Dadonghai is realy nice place to stay and walk to the beach, real beautiful. Only big hotels and bank take credit card, but generally merchant and small hotel do not take credit card. Take US$ or Euro and exchange it at Bank of China in Sanya. There are Russian sign in some hotel, but local Chinese do not understand English or Russian, but you will find it easily to communicate with sign language. The weather is always warm and the sea is always warm even in the rain. In December has more rain than in July but not heavy as monsoon rain. Enjoy your stay in Sanya.
