Victoria International Hotel: Best foreigner-friendly hotel in town!
I stayed at this hotel in September 2011. This hotel was directly across from the central Rail Station. It is elegant and marble-ized. Great breakfast, comfy beds, awesome bathroom! So affordable too! We also asked them to arrange a taxi driver to take us 1 hour away to Cangyanshan (site of one of the scenes from Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon) at 700RMB (it's high, but it's worth it. They have a cable car to take you up to the top then you can slowly walk down if you want or take the cable car). Great staff, everyone spoke English. Hope to stay here again. Just a note: the A/C wasn't working during our stay but the staff helped us open up the large windows so we kept cool enough, so no real biggie.

YuJing Garden Holiday Hotel: Very nice place in large botanical garden
I stayed in this 4-5 stars resort for business in north west area of ShiJiaZhuang. I enjoyed the stay very much, the staff extremely friendly. A great open-sky barbaque-grill restaurant on top of the restaurant building (3rd floor), with great view over the large botanical garden. They call it "beer garden", but is more just a very nice open-sky place with wooden furnitures and great dinner buffet. Rooms very large and new, all very clean, large modern bathroom with separate shower room. Rooms in garden style villas, very nice and calm. Booking in English maybe difficult, better ask a chinese friend. Only served breakfast available, as not too many guests, when I lived there in June 2011. This breakfast was Chinese style with dumplings, vegetables, meat and fruits, perfectly good stuff and arranged very nicely.
Unique Quality: Calm rooms, green environment. Quite near to airport. Very convenient for north-west ShiJiaZhuang, great roof-top dinner restaurant (maybe only during summer time).
