"Beautiful nature"

Mudanjiang is a ciy in Heilongjang province. It is 450 km south east if Harbin the provincial capital and abt 250 km west of Vladivostok. It is located ina mountaineous region. China's most famous ski resort, Yabuli, is located close by.

This is my wife's hometwon so we go there regularly. We go there every winter for Chinese New year and it is cold. Can go down to -35 celsius. Don't foget your long underwear if you come at that time!

The famed Siberia Tiger once roamed the forests of the area but it is believed none are left in the wild arund these parts. There is a tiger reserve though and if you have time it is worth a visit. It is close to Yabuli.

The region is full of beautiful forests and lakes. The most famous lake is Jingpo Hu abt 2 hours away by car. This is especially nice in the summer. there is also a nice waterfall there.

The city itself is typical of cities in this part of China. it is quite poor and has some dilapidated factories. There is quite a bit of construction but less than in other parts of China as peple are also a lot poorer. Many of the buildings are very old and tere seems to be no urban plan of sorts except for the obliugatory super large square.
