Xiangguo Si (Statue of Guanyin)

This was one of the nicest surprises that Kaifeng had to offer. Xiangguo Si would be just one more temple, if it wasn't for the 3m high statue of Guanyin that can be admired inside the octogonal temple.

It was made from a sole gingko tree and it is four-sided with a thousand arms. Each palm has an eye in the center. It is covered in gold.

A highlight in Henan province.
