Even though the weather wasn't the best for wandering the caves were worth the wet feet and the sore throat! The temperature hovered just over freezing as it either rained or snowed all day. I wasn't really prepared for these temperatures as I was just coming out of the South of China where it was quite comfortable wearing my lightweight jacket. I should have bought a pair of rubber boots to walk in!! haha

Scenes of every day life in Luoyang
I spent enough time there to be amazed by the people's discipline, love of their children, hard work and dedication. Here's some pictures that wouldn't fit in the "tips" section but worth showing...
Everywhere you go, its just amazing how parents and grandparents love their children and treat them well. Coming from a place where people are increasingly forgetting about having kids because "its too expensive", I got amazed every day by how the kids are adored here.
"Parents waiting for their kids"
All over town, I noticed crowd in the morning, lunch time, afternoon, even night. Its parents and grandparents waiting for their kids or grandkids to come our of school or kindergarden.
"The road to the airport"
In order to get a decent 6 way road to the airport, the city government litterally ripped through neighborhoods as can be seen on this pic. All along the way, we can see buildings cut in half and "patched". I even saw one building with the rooms wide opened...quite a sight.
In Luoyang and in the outskirt, the government buildings can't be missed. They are massive !
"Hard at work"
Forget about those big trucks with brush, the city gives a chance to work for everyone and has people brushing the streets after rainfall.
As i walked on a cloudy day in "central park", i noticed many groups doing dance competition. They practice all year round and that day, there were judges and a big crowd.
"Dance Festival (Part 2)"
The dancers were from all ages and the dances were all sorts (with musicians, traditional, modern)
