Visiting the chairmans birthplace
"On business in Changsha"
Actually I went there on a business trip. We had the lifting ceremony for one of our major projects in Changsha.
No, nothing is burning there, the smoke is caused by tons of firecrackers which were lit to celebrate the occasion. Later it turned out to be too windy and no part could be lifted up.
This didnt really keep us from celebrating the event which didnt take place in a nearby hotel.
"Visiting Mao's birthplace"
After a long night in Changsha, we went to Shaoshan. My hosts told me that this is a MUST. Well, I wouldnt argue would I? The drive from Changsha could have been quite pleasant, if I would not have been so sick from the night before.
Anyway, we made it and I stood on a place where Mao was born. A man who truly left his marks on history. The house was quite big, when they were peasants than they were certainly not poor.
"taking in the sights of Changsha"
Next day we went to explore the sights in Changsha. It would have probably nice if I would not have been so sick. You know, nightbar, disco ... the works.
The most remarkable sight was certainly the small pavillion you can see on the picture. My interpreter was truly happy that I took that picture. "About this pavillion from the Tang Dynasty we were learning about already in primary school". Well, beware when you ask your friends for places to visit ... they might have other preferences ...
