Oak Bay Garden Hotel: Great place besides golf court/adventure park

This is a terrific hotel in Hawaii/Thai style - I had a room overlooking the Golf court/ adventure park. You do not hear any street there - only very in the far, and you can sleep very well with open balcony door - as I see all rooms here have a large balcony with full large balcony doors. Very nice decoration inside the hotel with a mix of Chinese/Thai style furniture, no plastics stuff. My room had large LCD TV, very large bathroom with separate shower and bath tub, great large area shower, good Aircondition, all working perfectly well. Further perfectly working Internet, even own computer in room (which I did not try, as I had my laptop). My room was going on the golf course - behind you saw the adventure park which really looks very interesting with large artifical landscaping. I booked through sinohotelguide.com, there the hotel was named "Dak Bay Garden Hotel" - this is also the name in Google maps - you can see the hotel in the map of the adventure park at www.cnkly.com (the hotel is there the arrow top left in this park display). Very rich and complete Western+Chinese breakfast buffet. Nearby at the street towards the Fudu Trader Hotel there is a further great public parc with nice landscaping and very nice fish restaurants at the small side street of the park (I was in a very nice and small one-story restaurant there with full open glass front towards the park area, there was a real tree growing inside the restaurant, and I ate a really smashing fish dish there - just ordering there only possible if you are together with a Chinese - they only had Chinese menu card, without images even - this restaurant compared to typical China prices was quite higher price, but really worth its money). Other international hotels in Changzhou are most at large streets or even street crossings - this hotel is a great constrast with its green environment!

Unique Quality: Calm large rooms with large bath and with large full private balcony, perfect Internet, AC etc., nice vivid Chinese environment towards city in walking distance, one of the nicest hotels I know in China.

Trader Fudu Hotel: Best Hotel In Changzhou

Being part of the Shangri La chain of hotels this is an upscale hotel that caters to both Chinese and western business travelers that want to stay in one of the better hotels in the area.

Activities include tennis, Fitness center and an indoor pool. There are 2 restaurants and a bar with pool tables, free internet service.

This hotel is located about a block west of the Phoenix Hotel.

Unique Quality: This hotel is top rate. I have been told its the best in Changzhou and I believe it. Again, for a more scenic view from the hotel, request a road front room.

I like the area of the city that this hotel is located. It is a green and clean part of the city. I included a couple of street photos to prove the point.

Phoenix Hotel: Nice hotel for the price

I stayed here for 2 weeks in November 2008. The hotel mainly caters to Chinese travelers and business people. The hotel is clean and the staff is helpful.

It has a restaurant with the menu that has offers some western dishes. For dinner, I recommend having Chinese, since the western foods are not done well, not terrible just not well. If you elect to have western, I recommend the pork chop dinner. The breakfast also offers western fare and its actually very good, eggs, bacon, sausage, etc.

The bed are hard! I have been told that this is typical for hotels whose clients are mostly Chinese.

Unique Quality: I did have a great view overlooking a city park and some of the canals that criss-cross the city. Request a room overlooking the street runnning in front of the hotel.
