Western Delights
by tommaddox about The Blue Marlin
The Blue Marlin is a bar/restaurant to be found in 1912. They have some of the best Western food available in Nanjing, and a menu that is sure to provide something that caters for every diner's tastes. From German food, to pasta, to traditional American food and of course Chinese food, The Blue Marlin is the restaurant that I visit most often. Live music on weeknights too. Steak Toast
XuanWu Lake

Think this was not the right time to visit the lake, as again the sky was very foggy. Guess the best time to visit is during spring... This photo looked very similar to the one that I took at Hangzhou West Lake. At first, I almost forgot which lake this is. There is a park here and it is one of the most favourite attractions of Nanjing citizens.
Relaxing Nanjing

"Nanjing Park"
I read that Nanjing is a cross between Beijing and Shanghai (Beijing is known for being quite cultural and historic while Shanghai is known for being modern and westernized). I always wonder what that would be like. So I decided to check it out myself, and I....don't really agree.
Nanjing in a lot ways is similar to Beijing and Shanghai, a lot of bicycles, traffic, malls and noise, after all, cities in China are quite similar to each other, but I had the feeling that Nanjing is much more relaxed, and that was not because I was on vacation.
People who sit in parks and in starbucks there are truly just enjoying it, having a slow day.
"Hot! Hot! Hot!"
Food in southern China is known for being really spicy.
A fantastic local restaurant called Kong Yiji is a must-try. I went to the one in Confucius Temple, it was located by the river there. Pick a seat by the window, great views!
"Confucius Temple"
This place is crazy. You can get one of the old China man-pulling-tricycles. It's not a sign of slavery, just to attract tourists.
