Travel Tips for Nanjing

You will see lots of...

by alexia_lin

You will see lots of restaurants in Nanjing, especially in the area of Confucius Temple(Fuzi miao) which is a impressive place I will never forget.I suggest you go there in the evening because it is particularly interesting when a lively street market sets up in the district, and locals and tourists take part in the bargain hunting!
I enjoy that very much. But by the way, don't be too picky about the taste. You just need to absorb the relaxed atmosphere, have something to eat and take part in the fun!

Today, the entire area around the Temple consists of a series of tourist shops, snack bars, restaurants and entertainment arcades all done up in 'Ming' and 'Qing' style architecture.
Well, the price of street food is extremely cheap,if you buy RMB 10's food, you will get a lot. And if you take dinner in a restaurant, the price might be a little higher but it still depends on. 50-60RMB per one is enough.(it's about 8 us dollar). If you have never been to China or Asia, you might not know DOU FU which is a special food made by soybean. So I guess only China and Japan have these kind of food. Nanjing is very famous for their fried Dou Fu.I love it! When I walked around in the street market of Cunfucius Temple,I bought a lot!!! YUMMY YUMMY! :)

"Admiral Zheng He or Sambao"

visit the memorial of zheng he the famous 14th century chinese-muslim explorer/admiral who was also a eunuch castrated by the yongle emperor . this is one of the few places in china where there are no crowds. nearby there is an ancient pagoda & more tombs of ancient emperors.

i think the southern trading city in the philippines, zamboanga was named after him.
