where should the apartment locate?
Near the City center or close to the countryside?
The prices greatly vary by the difference of locations and what's your budget?:)

yes, upon arriving here, one of the first things you can do is go to 1912 (a place full of bars and clubs), find a table in Blue Marlin Restaurant. and wait for foreigners to walk in. if you're also a foreigner, other foreigners will be pleased to help out.

most probably you will go through an agent for example www.5i5j.com or joanna real estate. they'll also show you various apartments up for rent. it could be a villa on the purple gold mountain, or an apartment in the city - goldern eagle property developers has great apartments.

that's about it...

once you're settled down, you can find a school for your kids (www.nic.com.cn) as well as find out what you can do (www.nanjingnow.com) in your free time. there's a huge german community here too.

Travel Tips for Nanjing

When flying, I flew through...

by The_Rabbit

When flying, I flew through PuDong Int Airport in Shanghai. I came in late so I missed the train. The alternative was a three hour bus ride from Shanghai to Nanjing.
I found the taxi to be the best mode of transport. While the fare is cheap, the ride can be a wild one. Many of the drivers are new drivers!

Far View of Mausoleum

Here is a view of the Sacrifical Hall from afar.

Caution: As Nanjing is known as one of China's four furnaces, it gets really hot there, especially when there is high humidity. It is best advised that you visit there in the late spring or early fall. Otherwise, make sure to bring lots of sunscreen & water, for the sun leaves no mercy here.

Great Bell Pavilion

by Willettsworld

The Great Bell Pavilion is located just to the north of the Drum Tower. It was constructed during the Ming dynasty and later rebuilt in 1889. The huge bronze bell, cast in 1388, is one of the largest in China.
