Relax!
by Sharrie
Relax! Life can be so much pleasant when you just let the moments passed you by.
From my few trips to Japan during the Cherry Blossoms Festival, it was a v. nice experience to see many workers & professionals alike enjoying the nature (even if it's in the overcrowded city). Life is so much more pleasant if one can enjoy the little moments & make full use of what one has.
On this trip, I was quite surprised to witness the same here in Nanjing. Not that they are not human like the rest of us, but just a preconceived idea about communists, I guess. It's strange in some ways, each of us are brought up with different experiences & teachings, until we actually venture out there ourselves & learned that things can be different, we'll never know how wrong we could be. For this v. reason, I'm thankful I was able to visit many different countries, cultures & talked to many different nationalities. It's life best experiences!

There's a Buddhist temple on the outskirts of the city that has a mountain with 1000 buddhas carved on the sides of it. The scenery is beautiful and the temple itself is interesting.
Great Views of city, cultural experience of temple worship
Memorial to the Nanjing Massacre
by socrates_07
West of the Mochou Hu Park is the Memorial to the Nanjing Massacre. It is a must-see museum which touched me a lot. I have to admit, at the beginning I took photos as normaly but after a short while I wasnt able to take more photos. And not because it was prohibited.
A visit to this grim, gravelly garden includes a gruesome display of victims' skulls and bones, half-buried in the dirt as well as a clearly marked pictographic account of the butchery. See this to understand the incredible sufferings endured by the Chinese people during World War II. Hearteningly, the last room is devoted to reconciliation between the Japanese and Chinese people with displays of contrite letter written by Japanese schoolchildren.
City wall, the soul of the city

"Zhong Shan Gate"
There are more than 13 gates as the entrance of the city and this one is the main and best preserved one in town.
It's also the entrance gate to Nanjing town from Huning(Shanghai to Nanjing) express way which is the most busy one in China.
It's like a show place to people firstly come here - what a marvelous historical relic. But again, are we preserving the history or destroy it?
"Gray stages towards the platform"
The simplest color is the ever best one to be compared with the current colorful life.
"Gates"
A gate to where? Bill Gates? Noooo...
"The ceaseless life"
The weedy cane is spreading thoroughly on the stone, proving their humble life but an overwhelming power to override the life of history.
Can we bring all things back to its original look? Maybe not or can't at all!
"Shooting, bumping and crying"
Those flaws or gaps are the wittness of war.
It was crying when she got hurted by tons of shoots on her body. But no one listened.
And it tells the history that we forever should not experience again and cherish we have now.
