Grand Metropark Hotel Nanjing

I have stayed at this property about 5 times since 2007, for 2 - 3 days each stay (and one stay in 2001 when the property was run by Hilton). Most recent stay was late 2009.

The facility is excellent in design and structure, but the rooms have become dated and decor a bit tired. All clean and orderly, but visible wear on carpets, etc.

Lobby is elegant with a big lobby bar featuring live piano music - very nice.

Buffet breakfast was excellent as would be expected for a hotel of this caliber.

Location is on the eastern edge of downtown next to one of the Nanjing college campuses. Several historic locations are nearby including the tomb of Sun Yat Sen (Sun Zhong Shan), founder of the Republic of China; ruins of Ming dynasty palace; and city wall.

After trying Jinling Hotel, I would have to recommend Jinling as a better overall value unless the particular location of this property was important. (Jinling is closer to the center of the downtown business district, and Nanjing traffic can be difficult!)

Unique Quality: Good location for several Nanjing tourist/ historic locations.

never stayed here, but I have gone many times for the breakfast. It is the best breakfast buffet in Nanjing. although expensive at around RMB 120. Full selection of western-type breakfast foods, great coffee, nice atmosphere, and friendly service. I would eat here every day if the location was more convenient for me.

Very nice and simple hotel. Only complain I have is that this Hotel is a bit far from the heart of the city.

Rooms and Facilities were nice. Staff Courteous and extremely helpful. I have to book a internal flight urgently and the staff went out of the way to make the reservation and collect the tickets on my behalf.Highly recommended that you sign up for a Hilton Honor programme if you have yet to get a hotel reward programme. You get both Hotel Points and Airline Frequent Flyers Points.

It was a nice stay there. Friendly staff smiling to you as you enter. Great buffet breakfast which you just need to sit back and relax while you cut every bacon you had taken. Easy access to public transport and fully equipped business centre.

Unique Quality: Attentive, friendly staff. Latest gym, latest recretional facilites, swimming pool, tennis court etc.
