There is one train a day. It leaves Nanjing in the late evening and arrives in Anqing next morning - journey time is about 7 hours.

There are about 6 buses a day from the bus station on Jiang Bian Lu, near Nanjing West station. The journey time is about 5 hours. The last bus leaves Nanjing at about 16:30.

Travel Tips for Nanjing

Nanjing boasts a highly developed transportation system with its own international airport, railway station and numerous bus stations.
By train:
The newly renovated Railway station is located in the north of the city and the soft seat entrance is to the right of the station as you face it. Train tickets are available here, or at a ticket office near Gulou on Zhongshan Bei Lu. Most major hotels can can also get tickets for a small service charge. This is a good option as it is much easier than queuing up at the train station! Taxis to and from the train station to the center of town should cost about RMB 20-30. There are also buses to the University area around Shanghai Lu (no.13) or Xinjeikou (No. 1A) from outside the station. If you take train from Nanjing to Shanghai(3 hours),it costs you around RMB80,regarding to it's the fastest train,so the price is also the highest. Also, you can take buses. The buses themselves are generally good and a speedy bus service operates to Shanghai (3-4 hours), Suzhou (2 hours), and Hangzhou (5-6 hours).
Getting about in the city itself is usually pretty easy and there are ample taxis around town and a good (though crowded) bus service.

Hong Wu's Tomb

by xiquinho

Here lays the first Emperor of the Ming Dynasty called "The Beggar King" because of his humble origins. Built in 1381, the tomb was damaged in the Taiping Rebellion, but still contains a memorial gate and a path lined with stone animal sculptures.

Jiming Temple

by Willettsworld

This temple lies right up against the Ming City Walls and is also close to the Xuanwu Lake. It was first built in AD 527 and has been rebuilt many times since but has retained its original name, which literally means 'rooster crowing', since 1387. The temple features a pagoda which can be climbed for great views over the city and city wall.

Admission: Y5.
