The ducks' tongues & Nian Gao (Chinese new year cake) are some of the common dishes found in this city. On the other hand, it's not common to find these specialties in Chinese restaurants overseas.

Eating in China is amounting to having a feast! There are just so many different varieties of food to try. If you are courageous, this is a country you'll have your heart's fill of culinary expertise. Just awesome!

Xuanwu Lake

Located in People's Park (once a private imperial preserve), this lovely lake contains five islets, linked by embankments and arched bridges and surrounded by thousands of weeping willow trees. There's also a zoo, a playground, an open-air theatre, a skating rink, a bonsai garden and goldfish aquarium.

Nanjing is a good city to visit to learn a bit about Communist and Guomindang history, and of course the "Rape of Nanking".

Be careful though if you visit in the summer, as it is reknowned as one of China's Three Furnances (Wuhan and Chongqing are the others). But, in reality, lots of China's cities are scortching in the summer.
