Best Pizza Bar None
Bella Napoli has the best pizza in Nanjing bar none. Created and run by Italians, this pizza is pretty authentic and the restaurant itself has a good atmosphere. Any of the pizzas, but the Calzone is really good.

This was one of a few jade suits of armour made from small jade tiles that I saw throughout my trip in China. This one dates from the Eastern Han dynasty (2nd century A.D.) and is threaded with silver. It was unearthed in Tushan, Xuzhou, Jiangsu province.
Nanjing is the capital of the province of Jiangsu and was formerly the capital of China when the first emperor of the Ming Dynasty, Zhu Yuanzhang, who overthrew the Yuan Dynasty, rebuilt the city and built the world's longest city wall at 33km in length. Most of the wall still remains today along with many other Ming dynasty relics. The capital was then moved to Beijing in 1420 when the Forbidden City was built. It then became the capital of China again for a few years either side of the Second World War. Located in the lower Yangtze River drainage basin and Yangtze River Delta economic zone, Nanjing has always been one of China's most important cities. Nanjing has also served as a national hub of education, research, transportation and tourism throughout history. With an urban population of over five million, it is also the second largest commercial centre in the East China region, after Shanghai.
With all its history, Nanjing has plenty to other the visitor. Firstly, there's the Purple Mountains which lie a few km's outside the north-east of the city. This is where the mausoleum of the founding father of modern China, Sun Yat-sen, is buried. The mountains also host an astronomical observatory, Ming dynasty tomb and Jiming Temple. Within the city lie a whole host of Ming dynasty relics such as the ruins of a palace plus temples, bell and drum towers and museums. I spent 4 days here in order to see everything I wanted to see that the city had to offer before heading on a train northwards to Qufu.
