Nanjing Yangtze River Bridge
by chatterley
The Yangtze River is the longest river in China, and the 3rd longest river in the world (the first is the Amaon, second is River Nile). This Yangtze River Bridge is the symbol of Chinese independence and national pride. The Russians had pulled out of this bridge-building project, and they were confident that the Chinese would not be able to complete its construction. However, the bridge was built, defying its odds and naysayers. Upon its completion, Mao Zedong had promised the people that this bridge would be be toll-free. Up to this date, vehicles using this bridge are not required to pay toll charges.
We went up to view the bridge on a cold, misty morning, and could barely see the whole bridge due to the heavy mist.

by cal6060
When we arrived to Nanjing, we thought Nanjing was just like other china cities. The truth is that Nanjing is a historical city that you can feel the pass of what china has really gone through in term of politic, economic, religion, and culture. We were there for three days, definately it was not enough.
