Zijinshan Ropeway

There's a lovely scenic chairlift that runs up the side of the Purple Mountain. It starts at the western entrance of the park near the city wall and goes up to the Monk Peak Scenic Area via the Purple Mountain Astronomical Observatory. I took it all the way to the top but didn't hang around as there's not a lot to see or do up there except to admire the views which are a bit hazy. I then took the chairlift back down and got off at the observatory station and then walked down the hill from there.
Admission: Y35 one-way or Y60 return.
The_Rabbit's new Nanjing Page

My trip to Nanjing was an unexpected one. Within two months notice I was getting my visa, doing my research, and packing my bags. I have only been outside the US 3 times; once to Europe, Mexico and Puerto Rico. But my trip was fabulous. Fortunate for me I met with some expatriates working in the business district and they showed me a great time. I found Nanjing to be very friendly and self-sufficient. During my stay I also had the opportunity to stay in Shanghai for a few days. I was amazed at the massive building projects going on, as well as it's futuristic look at the main shipping port area.
