Precious Belt Bridge
by Willettsworld
The Precious Belt Bridge is located at the intersection of the Grand Canal and Dantai Lake, about 2.5km south-east of Suzhou. The first construction of the bridge dates back to the year 816 AD, during the mid Tang Dynasty. According to written accounts, the bridge derives its name from the local prefect Wang Zhongshu, who in a selfless act had sold his precious belt in order to help finance its construction. Since then, it has been reconstructed several times. The current structure of the Precious Belt Bridge is a Ming Dynasty era reconstruction of 1446 AD, during the reign of the Zhengtong Emperor. It spans 317m (1040ft), has a width of 4.1m (13.5ft) and has a total of 53 arches, of which the central three are larger to allow the passing of river vessels without masts.

The Pan Men Gate Scenic Area: the Ruiguang Ta
by Paul2001
The Ruiguang Ta is one of the few worthy attractions that you might find while touring the Pan Men Gate Scenic Area. It is a 37m high pagoda, dating from 1113. For Y6 you can climb up to the top of the pagoda. Just remember you might find yourself twisting and bending a lot at the top to make it through the stairwell. The views of the Pan Men Gate Scenic Area and the surrounding area are very good.

Suzhou is about 50 miles northwest away from the busy Shanghai and is China's most perfect private gardens. These gardens are on the UNESCO's world heritage list of treasure.
Marco Polo called it the Venice of the East, this is because Suzhou has a pretty serenity that trickles through its narrow interlocking canals, arched stone bridges & beautiful gardens.Suzhou is also well known for its exquisite embroidery & silk.
