Great Hotel
I stay here when I visit our plant in Wuxi. The staff is great; the food is varied and very good. There's a nice pool, exercise facility and two bars. It's not fair for me to comment on rates as my company has negotiated them. I have stayed in an "apartment" which is basically a large suite with a bedroom, living room and kitchen. Their king rooms are very nice, but lack refrigeration. All rooms are clean with good service staff and great room service for food.
Restaurants galore. The main dining area on the 7th floor is buffet style and includes traditional Asian fare from Chinese to Japanese. They have "theme nights" here featuring different food styles. There's a new Master Chef who came in early 2007 (I believe) and is doing a great job. Additionally, on the 5th floor, there's a Japanese, traditional Chinese and a sports bar restaurants.
Unique Quality: The hotel is in a very busy location of the city. Shopping seems to center around clothing, bulk silk and jewelry within walking distance. And cel phone stores everywhere! There are parks, movie theaters and other restaurants within easy walking distance. If you come in the summer, bring an umbrella...pretty traditional monsoon style storms abound.
Air pollution is tough here and the water is not safe to drink. I'm sure the hotel has filtered water but they supply complimentary bottled water to be safe. You'll see in many of the photos here that they are always hazy...it's not always fog.
