Wuxi (no tin) - Is there any Tin now?
"WuXi"
Wuxi is an old industrial city in Jiangsu province in China.
The city was originally called "Youxi" meaning "with tin". When the tin was all mined it was called "Wuxi" meaning "without tin".
Because of its recent development, Wuxi has been nickname the "little Shanghai". Wuxi is divided into halves by Lake Taihu. It borders Changzhou to the west and Suzhou to the east. The northern half looks across to Taizhou to the north over the Yangtze River, while the southern half also borders the province of Zhejiang to the south.
Yuantou Zhu or Turtle Head Isle is the principal Tai Hu pleasure spot and is certainly a relaxing place to stroll around.
