Reasonable hotel, good location
Have stayed here approx 10 times over past 3 years. Location is good, though noise from street traffic best avoided by getting a room at the rear of the hotel. Paid extra for a suite this time (650rmb) and well worth it - 2 rooms with separate lounge and bedrooms. Also gets you access to the executive room on top floor. Breakfast is quite good, but both heating and cooling seem to a bit random.
Unique Quality: Fitness centre is just average but it does have a bowling alley - games and beer are cheap and good value.
Smaller Mayflower bar in Shangri-La next door has good beer and band and good place to meet expats.
