Spitting/ Urinating
by charbay
This is the biggest culture shock for most expats, locals spit on the street all the time. This includes the best dressed women. Not all people do this but enough to gross you out, it did improve during the SARS situation so hope it continues.
Small children are seen urinating in public, in tree wells or against buildings and it seems acceptable
Huo Guo

Normally, Huo Guo soup is divided into two parts: normal soup and spicy soup. So this kind of Huo Guo is also called mandarin duck Huo Guo.
You can put vegetables, beef, lamb, seafood, fish, bean curd, noddle... anything you like into the soup. Then put some seasoning... It tastes wondelful!
Northeastern Harbour

Dalian was a great surprise for us... I've been already for some hours there, in transit, but it was too short to see everything... but the first impression I've gotten on that occasion was confirmed on this last trip.
Not only a harbour but a lively city, modern and well organized. Downtown Dalian has a large shopping area always crowded, wide avenues and large parks.
Here in my tips/pages you can visit some of the places we've been to... and feel how is like to be in Dalian.
