May I know how far away is the airport to town?

The Lonely Planet says that it's about 12 KM. A taxi shouldn't cost more than 50 RMB, or you can get a bus. The buses in Dalien are very very good quality and a pleasant way to travel.

The distance from airport to the city is about 12-14kms.
It takes about 20mnts by taxi.The public transport system is good in Dalian from where iam writing this msg.
I went to a huge international shopping center where they sell lotsa imported and branded goods - shopping center at Swissotel. People there are very well-dressed and with ladies with make-up. I just wore casually and felt a bit out of place. Those branded stuffs are more expensive as compared to in Singapore and UK.
I also went to the supermarket for food. Lotsa choices of cooked food there. Very interesting.
One can take the train to Beijing, Changchun, Harbin, Chengde, etc. The departure times can be obtained from the board at the station. The train service is not as frequent as in Europe.
I went to the train station and it looks very messy with a lot of traffic and people.
From Beijing:
Train K81 leaves from Beijing daily at 9:30pm, arriving the next morning in Dalian at 7:12am. Tickets for a hard sleeper berth is 231 RMB per way. Coming back from Dalian, take train K83, leaving Dalian at 8:45pm and arriving in Beijing at 6:45am.
The Manchurian wilderness is filled with ferocious animals such as tigers, bears and even these two giant crabs! As we were driving through the famous 18 curves region, Elva spotted a heated battle between these two bloodthirsty crustaceans! With quick thinking, I leaped into the fray to separate them before things got too rough...! They were full of anger and hate, hellbent on murder, but I remained cool and detached, even with a grin on my face...!
