Holiday Inn Shenyang
The Holiday Inn is at the back of the sister hotel the Intercontinental, just a few metres from Zongshan Square, and just half a kilometre from Zongshan Lu, one of Shenyang's many shopping streets.
The area immediately around the Intercon/Holiday Inn has seen better days, and other than the square everything is a good walk away - not much fun in the heat of summer or the depths of winter.
The Holiday Inn is excellent value for money at RMB353 per night plus 15% tax, and has fairly good restaurants as well. The Cafe Asiana on the second floor has big wide windows, but they look out onto the grubby car-park of the Liaoning Hotel (a historical structure in Shenyang...the hotel, not the car-park); still, the cafe does good coffee and a good breakfast.Judging by the seemingly low rates at all the nearby 4 and 5 star hotels (InterCon, Traders), it seems Shenyang may have a few too many top-end hotels.
The room was on the small side - a Holiday Inn trait these days - but very comfortable, and even on the 16th floor, the temperature in the shower stayed constant...not a foregone conclusion in China.
Unique Quality: Nothing unique, except that it doesn't have a gift-shop and the ground floor bar is dreary, but for RMB353, who's complaining?

comfortable and relax
The hotel is in downtown while provide a very quite relax environment. You dont need to worry about noise and dust. Just have a good rest as you like.
