Intercontinental Shenyang

I was staying in this hotel for 3 weeks during a business trip to Shenyang. The hotel is quite old and a little bit run down. The service is quite good and you should have no problem with the English speaking staff. The location is perfect. In the middle of the city. There are plenty of restaurants you can walk by.

Formerly known as InterContinental, as seen in many guides, in google maps, etc, it is now a Crowne Plaza Shenyang Zhongshan.
Very friendly staff, nice and spacious accommodations and a quite diverse breakfast (although not 5 star).
I stayed there for two nights / three days during a car trip with my family (wife and two kids).
Bad sides are that although the hotel has an underground parking, I was never offered to use it, and it was quite annoying having to drive on the sidewalk to get to the main entrance every time I wanted to pick from or leave my family in the hotel.

Visited in Oct 2007.
The guest room is bigger than most of 5 star hotels, well facilitated, however the bathroom looked a bit dated.

1 Chinese restaurant, 1 Japanese restaurant, 2 Italian/western restaurants, but all closed after 10pm. No room service/food available in and around hotel after 10pm, expect KFC and Starbucks
