Quality Hotel, Excellent Room
Our 2 night stay was most enjoyable. Our room provided everything we expected from a 5 star hotel. Very comfortable with a large modern bathroom with seperate bath and shower.
Located in the centre of the city, however we did not have much time to see the city as the purpose of our visit was to see the Terracotta Warriors.

Perfect location for a great view of downtown Xian
We stayed for one night at The Bell Tower Hotel. We had a "room with a view" and it was very nice - spacious with a desk area and two chairs.
The bed's mattress felt hard when we sat on it but we slept fine. There was a safe in the closet as well as terry bathrobes. The bathroom was very clean and the towels and washcloths were soft and fluffy. There was a phone in the bathroom as well as shampoo, soap and an extra toothbrush and razor. The room also had a coffee pot and packages of coffee and creamer and sweetener.
Breakfast was not included with the room but there are many places to eat nearby - including MacDonalds and Starbucks.
Unique Quality: We had a great view of the main street in Xi'an. It was especially beautiful at night. The location is excellent. It is near a huge shopping center which includes MacDonalds and Starbucks. It is within walking distance of the Bell Tower, city gate and the Muslim quarter.

Most Strategic Location in Xian
Room rate - value for money.
Service level - moderate
Facilities - moderate
Amenities - reasonable.
Hotel is a bit old but clean.
Definitely would recommend this hotel to someone else who would like to visit Xian.
Room reservation can be made through websites like www.elong.net or www.ctrip.com and the price is the same as walk in price.
Unique Quality: Strategic location. Easy access to the city, pedestrian tunnel and within walking distance to tourist attraction places such as Bell Tower, Drum Tower, Muslim Streets and City Wall Gate. Infact you can buy great paintings selling by locals next to the hotel during night time. The price of the paintings (large size 1m x 2m) about 30-50 CNY depending on your bargaining skills.

Best Location in Xian
When we first entered the Bell Tower Hotel in Xian we saw the full-size terracota warriors (copies of course) standing at the entrance, reminding us we were in Xian and were going to see the "real" terracota army the next day!
We entered our room and opened the curtain, and there it was, right outside our window: the beautiful old Bell Tower and the traffic circle around it, the epicenter of Xian City.
The hotel is also located within a short walking distance from the Drum Tower and the quaint Moslem Quarter with its mosque, market and food street.
Our room was spacious and comfortable, arranged as half bedroom and half sitting room.
The staff spoke English and was helpful. Breakfast was good, with Western and Chinese food.
I do recommend this hotel to any visitor to Xian.

Great Xian Hotel
I found this Hotel great.
It is in the centre of the city, generally anything you want to see is within walking distance.
The rooms are largish, spotless, well appointed and the service friendly and good.

Bell Tower International Hostel
This hostel has an amazing location - just 50m from the Bell Tower - right in the middle of the city. This place has a big common room, with a pool table and bar/restaurant. I stayed in an 8 bed dorm room in which I was the only person. It is possible for them to pick you up from the train station for free which was an added bonus.

Excellent Location
We were only here two nights. The hotel was very comfortable and well located.Easy to get to the Muslim quarter and to walk around the city.
WE paid 468 RMB per night without breakfast, and got some good breakfast at KFC just round the corner.There is also a starbucks right by the Bell Tower.I booked it through sinohotel.

Bell Tower Hotel Xi'an - great location
Got the deluxe room online for around 590RMB, which is a lot better than the walk in price of 980RMB. Large room with a sitting area, nice TV, a view of the Bell Tower which is the center of the city. Bathroom is smallish and clean, except our shower curtain smells like mildew. 24 hour spa including foot massage for 98RMB (wash and massage). Also offers full colon hydrotherapy which is a first I've seen advertised anywhere, but did not sum up the courage to try. Because of its city center location, no convenient stores are near, but there are 2 24 hour McDonald's and 2 Starbucks within view from our room, for good or worst. If you must get some cheap water and beer, walk out through the front door, take a left, and you will come to a smallish street to your left. There are stores there where 2 bottles of water and 4 cans of local HANS (not bad tasting) beer for 13RMB. Service staff speak varying degrees of English, and there were plenty of Italian, British, and German folks at the hotel.
Unique Quality: Within walking distance to almost everything in town. Two famous Xi'an restaurants serving dumplings and momo are across the street and so is the Muslim quarter that leads to the mosque. Bell and Drum towers near by, and huge shopping centers on the other side of the round about. Climb the South Gate with a 10 minute walk, and everything else by car.

Bell Tower Hotel
Stayed at the Bell Tower Hotel for 2 nights. The rooms are decently sized and more importantly clean.
Unique Quality: Best thing about the Bell Tower hotel is it's location. It's a short walk from attractions such as the Bell Tower, Drum Tower, South Gate of the old city wall and the muslim quarter. Ask for a room facing the Bell Tower.

Great Location
This hotel is situated, as the name implies, in the old city, near the Bell Tower. It should not be confused, however, with the Bell and Drum Tower Hotel, which is nearby. It is conveniently located within easy walking distance of both the Bell and Drum Towers and the Muslim Quarter, as well as various shopping malls.
Rooms are comfortable with all mod cons, including tea-making facilities and a glossy hardback coffee table type book about China (which is interesting for what it omits).
Breakfast is buffet style with a good choice of western and Chinese dishes.

We will be visiting Xi'an in May next year and were thinking of staying at the Bell Tower Hotel, Is there better hotels than the bell tower at same price that are more conveniently located to all the attractions?

I think that hotel is good because it is located in the center of the city, which means you can visit many places in walking distance.

I think we will choose the Bell Tower as we cant find anything wrong with it,
Not sure if you can help us or not, do you think the Bell Tower would be able to book train tickets for us (Xian-Shanghai)?

The Bell Tower is good. I've stayed there twice. You can't get more centrally located unless you stay overnight in the bell tower itself.

The Bell Tower Hotel is located in the South Avenue. with very convenient transportation. It is very easy to Bell & Drum Square, City Wall, Great Mosque just on foot. Also if have enough free time, I think the Muslim Quarter and its yum snacks should be included in your visit plan:D
