Best month to visit Xi'an?

by Confucius

Well, there is a beer festival going on this month (June 9 - July 9)

You might want to avoid the May and October holiday periods. Chinese New Year is not bad. I can't think of any really big annual festivals that are local to Xi'an.
The weather is probably nicest in September, but don't wait until the last week of that month.

Travel Tips for Xi'an

the only yellow waterfall-Hukou Waterfall

by jasmine_ding

400 kilometers from Xi'an, the Hukou Waterfall is the second-largest waterfall in China ,the only yellow waterfall of the world. It's on the Yellow River which is called the mother river of Chinese nation.

The yellow river narrows here from 250-meter-wide into a 50-meter deep pool. The shape is like a mouth of a kettle, in Chinese, Kukou.

The width of the waterfall changes according to seasons, in winter you can see an iced waterfall, it must be amazing. But I haven't visited it in winter, so I haven't seen the view.

Splendid, the only word, especially see it in sunset and sunrise, while the trip is a little bit difficult, that's the reason I put this tip into off the beaten path.

The first way is renting a car (with a driver), 2 days; the second way is go to Yan'an by train, then approach to Hukou waterfall, 2.5 days.

Favorite restaurant of nobody

by GUYON about No name restaurant

It is the favorite restaurant of nobody for a good reason : it was not open when I shot the photo. Though, it is not open I can tell the menu : on a rotating table, soup, fish, meat, chicken, vegetable, mushrooms, fruits.
It is very large. Certainly, it will be full of tourists.

the Forest of Stone Stele-stones with culture

by jasmine_ding

The Forest of Stelae Museum collects above 1000 stone tablets, along with other artifacts. The history of the museum is nearly 1000 years. Some exhibits are classified as national treasures.
One one hand, the museum is a library about the Chinese civilization and history, which is called "documented on the stone". One the other hand, it's the museum of calligraphy and sculpture made of stones.

Saving time

by solopes

In your escorted tour, you have to be taken to factories. Can’t escape!

Accepting that, if you may choose, do pick something like this. The factory itself is an old place with a classical atmosphere and its separated ateliers show, at once, several arts, almost everything. Of course, you need t check prices - I didn't!
