Minimal at best. Can be purchase at North Main Street between 10-30RMB. Can be purchased cheaply at North Main Street (of Bell Tower). Leave most at home if you intent to travel light. Toilets are decent and not as bad. Tissue paper or toilet paper should be an essential item to bring along. Digital Camera and/or Camcorder

Bell Tower

The Drum tower in the center of Xian, is one of the many historic monuments in Xian
There is a cost to enter, (not that great) and it is certainly worth a visit.
There is a collection of Quin Chime Bells housed here which are played during the day at intervals.
The tower itself is very interesting and you can get some great views from the top.
Old/New Fashion Beauty Salon

The spinning pattern of blue-red-yellow makes me recall of those old time barber shop in Malaysia when I am still a kid.
Well, this shop is supposed to be modern hair dressing outlet, but the commercial packaging for the shop somehow quite old fashion and catchy. I like it!!
Muslim Quarter
by mke1963
Xian's old Muslim quarter now covers a fraction of the area it once did, but it is a strong and thriving area of narrow streets, markets and shops to the north and north-west of the Drum Tower, which is the best access point.
Many of the most atmospheric streets are along little alleyways, and this is an area for just wandering around.
The street food here is good, as with all Muslim areas, and along with the vast array of tourist goods on sale, there are a lot of interesting ordinary shops and stalls. Kids play on the streets, people sit outdoors for much of the summer, living their lives out in the open, and there is the constant smell of cooking food, vegetables and "life". This is a busy, noisy, friendly place.
