Noisiest Hotel Ever
I recently spent 2 nights in the Melody Hotel in Xian. Without doubt the noisiest Hotel Ive stayed in. Only 4 stories high it is located right on the main square. Location is good with good views of bell and Drum Towers. A hunger busting Maccas directly opposite was a life saver as the "western" breakfast was atrocious.
The floors were filthy in the Hotel and it definitely doesnt deserve a 3 star rating. Frankly I've stayed in backpackers with more going for them

Budget accommodation near Bell Tower
This hotel was on the same side as the Bell Hotel and charging about 180 Yuan night. It also had shuttle buses and tour buses picking and leaving passengers. Looked like it was worth checking.

Xian Melody Hotel (Meilun Juidian)
I booked this hotel solely based on the fact that the airport shuttle bus having a stop in front on this hotel.
Anyone has stayed there recently?
1. How was your stay in this hotel?
2. How is the surrounding environs?
3. Does the Eastern Route or Western Route tourist buses stops at this hotel?

The location is good, the center of Xi'an, but I don't know the service and the condition of the hotel.
You don't need to book the package tour, including eastern route and western route. You can go to the railway station, tourist buses are on the square of it. You can read my tips, I'd like to answer your questions.

This was a good hotel. The location is smack dab in the middle of Xi'an. The rooms are 3 star quality, decent.
Cons: Crowds of drivers who harass tourists EVERY time they enter or leave the hotel, trying to scam you with an expensive ride to the airport or the Terracotta Warriors. If you want to go anywhere closer, they will refuse to give you a ride (it's too cheap), and tell you to go over to the next block to get a taxi!
Also, be prepared for alot of traffic at night, until about 1 AM in the morning. Horns, horns, horns, and bad sound insulation.
Yet despite that, the location is still great.
