Booking Train Tickets From Xi'an

by RusskiPower

I can't seem to find anyone to book train tickets fro me from Xi'an to Nanjing.

I am thinking of trying to push my luck and book those at the station upon arrival to Xi'an. Will I be pushing it too much? I would REALLY prefer a soft sleeper but those seem hard to come by.

Anyone by any chance know the email address of the Xi'an Ibis Hotel?

You didn't ask me?
Contact John (johnqingg2004@yahoo.com.cn) about the tickets.
I can't find an email on the Ibis Hotel website for the Xi'an hotel, sorry.

Well I can only buy tickets from here so that you can get them from me, otherwise how was I going to get your Pingyao -- Xi'an tickets to you? :P Fly me over to Taiyuan?
But I have contacts in SOME other places who might be able to help... you didn't ask about Xi'an. ;)

Travel Tips for Xi'an

Terracotta Warriors

by nepalgoods

The impressive remains of the Terracotta army of emperor Qin Qi Huang Di are worth a travel of thousands of kilometres and every effort!! It is as overwhelming as the Pyramids in Egypt or Angkor Wat!

Taxis are really cheap

by ahoerner

If you are staying in the downtown, you will not have the need to, but if not, you will probably need to get to the cool places in the city. And the best transportation, in my opinion, is the taxi.
They are cheap in for a fare of $1-3 you can reach every tourist attraction inside the city walls and the main outside.
Of course, as I said, if you are in the city centre, the best way to reach the attractions is walking...
(picture: green taxis everywhere!)

City Wall

by muddybok

This is the first destination for me upon arriving from Xi'an Airport. The Northgate is often called as "Ying Pin Men" becuase of it location welcoming majority of the tourists via air.

The City Wall of Xi'an is the only well preserved walls in China. The City Wall of Beijing was tearing down make way for development and subway construction purposes. What a waste!!

XI`AN CITY WALLS

by BerniShand

When you go to see the terracotta army, make time to visit the old city wall of Xi`an.
You can walk along the top and get great views of the city, and its the only complete city wall still standing in China. It was built during the Tang Dynasty

Chime Bells Performance

by Willettsworld

I think, everyday, there is a Qin Chime Bells performance inside the Bell Tower where they place 39 different bells of various sizes. The performance times are at 9am, 10:30am, 11:30am, 3pm, 4pm, 5pm, 8pm and 9pm.
