For sure I'll go to the Muslim...

For sure I'll go to the Muslim resident area, the food there is so nice Although Xi'an, or even the whole Shan'xi provice is rather dirty ( sorry, but it's true),I like this city very much, not only because of lots of event in the early Chinese history were happened there, I miss the food there very much. Last year September, just after I resigned from the company, the first thing I did was: went to Xi'an for food. The question I asked myself at those days was 'why people can only eat three times a day'. I miss the four year time I stayed there too.
We flew from Beijing to Xian...
by Russophile
We flew from Beijing to Xian on China Air. Made the travel reservations at the Beijing Hilton (close to the friendship store I think), where we did not stay. There is a travel agent there that was quite helpful and helped us with the flight reservations. Air China had a brand new Boing 777 on the route with extremely amble leg room in coach. A cool feature was that the plane had a camera that showed landings and takeoffs from a cockpit view on the cabin TV's. Never seen that before or since.
We rented a cab for our trip to the Neolithic village and the terracotta warriors. Oh and it came with a very friendly guide who spoke English quite well. I think we arranged it through a tourist information place where we were dropped off by the bus from the airport. At the same place we also made our hotel reservations, convenient but not the cheapest. One friend had arrived independently and stayed in a hostel, she said it was ok, but standard was low.
WILD GOOSE PAGODAS
by pink63
The two giant Buddhist pagodas date back about 1300 years during the Tang Dynasty.
The big pagoda was initially built in 652 with only five floors. Several decades later, two more floors were added.
The small pagoda was built in 709. It was originally 15 floors high. A 16th century earthquake shook down the top two floors.
The big pagoda is 64 meters (211 feet) high. The small one is 43 meters (142 feet) high.
The two pagodas stand a couple of kilometers (a little over a mile) apart.
Bell Tower
by pmarshuk
The original Bell tower was built in 1384 and was situated in the middle of Xian, two blocks west of the current position. It was moved in 1582 and has been restored several times since. In a corner of the surrounding platform is a Ming period bell.
The spectacular wall - Explore by bike - 2.
by K.Knight
As you can see by the attached photo, the wall is quite flat and easy to ride a bike on. The wall slopes very slightly to the “city side” the entire way around. Although there are large “cobble stones” for the entire trip, the riding was quite safe and uneventful.
The hardest part of the trip was the wind! As you are up quite high it can be difficult when the wind gets up. Once you are used to riding your bike in any one direction you can turn a corner and be riding directly into a headwind! Of course this can also be the opposite and you can have a very nice “tail wind” helping you along
