Shangri-La Golden Flower Hotel
We stayed here for 7 nights in 2005. Uncompromised service and quality in every aspect. This was a luxurious experience at a moderate level price. Fresh fruit and bottled water in our clean, well appointed room nightly, supremely comfortable beds, quiet, excellent indoor pool, helpful concierge, I could go on and on. Great price for a 5-star hotel. Be sure to stay in the newly renovated section on the club level (we were on the 10th floor). It includes late afternoon snack/drink buffet (perfect for the kids after a swim and before dinner). Competent and multilingual speaking staff. The door men will tell the taxi drivers (always waiting) where you want to be taken to (very inexpensive taxi service around town). Concierge recommended excellent restaurants nearby. Great for children because of the snacks and pool plus very friendly and accomodating staff.
