Pick up souvenir, the smell of traditional culture
by jasmine_ding about Shuyuanmen Gate
Shuyuanmen Gate is a small street with 400 history . It was the gateway to the Guanzhong Shuyuan (Guanzhong Academy), one of the four famous Academies of ancient China. The Forest of Stone Stele is on the end of the street.
There are hundred shops established in the ancient style. You can see various size of writing brushes hang from above the gate of shops. Many of the owners know a lot about Chinese calligraphy, painting, and other cultural things. Some of them are real artists. Maybe you can be permited to visit their small workshops, which are located behind the shops, to see how they make those crafts.
Many local people, including amateurs and artists look for things they want here.

by jasmine_ding about Seine River Restaurant
From the name of the restaurant, you will see it's a French restaurant, and also the best western restaurant of Xi'an now.
It is located in the centre of Xi'an, just 50 meters away from the Bell Tower. If you want to some changes from Chinese food or local food, you'd like to have a meal there. Surroundings, service, dishes and wines will meet your requirement.
I wonder why the statement looks like an AD. Hehe. Cream soup, desserts
Terra Cotta Warriors
The first...

Terra Cotta Warriors
The first emperor, Qin (Chin) wanted real people to be buried with him – but settled on the terracotta warriors. There are three pits, one with the army of warriors, the chariot, and finally a pit in discovery conditon.
This was amazing!!! I was awed at the site, the rows of soldiers each with different expressions. There are sections of the pit where you can see warriors not reconstructed. This was even more powerful, to imagine the creativity and drive of people so make such impressive pieces without the help of the equipment we have today. The next two pits were also interesting. This site should definitely not be missed.
The spectacular wall
by K.Knight
Xian is a fantastic old city that is surrounded by a magnificent high wall. The wall has 4 main Gates; strangely enough they are called the North, South, East and Western gates. There are also 3 smaller entrances comprising of the Zhuque, Duanlv and Heping gates.
Most of the attractions are housed within the walls limits, with easy access through the main gates. I can suggest taking the time to explore the city wall as it has a lot of things to see and do, especially on the top.
Great Mosque
by Willettsworld
The Great Mosque in Xian is one of the oldest, largest and best-preserved Islamic mosques in China. According to historical records engraved on a stone tablet inside, this mosque was built in 742 AD during the Tang Dynasty (618-907). This was a result of Islam being introduced into Northwest China by Arab merchants and travellers from Persia and Afghanistan during the mid-7th century when some of them settled down in China and married women of Han Nationality.
Unlike most mosques in Middle Eastern or Arab countries, the Great Mosque of Xian is completely Chinese in its construction and architectural style, except for some Arabic lettering and decorations, for the mosque has neither domes nor traditional-style minarets. Occupying an area of over 13,000 square meters, the Great Mosque is divided into four courtyards, 250 meters long and 47 meters wide with a well-arranged layout featuring landscaped gardens. The mosque is a must-see-thing whilst in Xian.
Admission: RMB12 (includes a small pocket-sized guidebook).
