Eat stir-fry clams with dried chilli
This is a must-eat if you visit Qingdao.
Clams are in season once the snow melts.
Stir-fried with garlic and dried ginger and topped with some coriander, it is delicious.
A plate - RMB12. It's called "La4 Chao3 Ge3 Li4" in Mandarin.
In Qingdao dialect Ge3 Li4 is called Ga2 La4.
A Yellow Sea coastal resort
"First visit was about 16 years ago"
My first trip was with my mom and the family of one of my friends.
I spend two weeks there but couldn't remember much about the city.
My only impression was that the beach is crowd and dirty, and my accommodation was bad, in particular the quality of food and water.
"My trip in 2003"
I stayed in Qingdao for 2 days, and it was for business.
The hotel was great and locates in new district.
"Business trip in Nov/Dec 2007"
Again, no picture of the city here.... not because of no camera like the last couple trips, but there was really nothing to shoot...
Besides it was winter, the beauty of the city was destroyed by all kinds of constructions: hills were bold (w/o trees), dust was heavy and air was smoggy/heavily polluted.
I stayed 2 weeks for business in the center of new town (by Hong Kong road), never stepped out of hotel except going to client office.
