New hostel near north gate

This new hostel, which opened in May 2007, is located just inside the town wall near the north gate and opposite the Yan Temple. As it was virtually brand new when I stayed here in May 2008, everything was clean and tidy and the room I had (for RMB130) featured a large TV, 2 very, very hard single beds, hot water shower via geyser and some smelly drains. The staff are very friendly with one guy called Mr Qi speaking very good English with an American accent. They only serve 6 different meals during the day - 3 of which are breakfasts. The hostel features a nice bar/communal area with free internet, laundry, DVD/games, and bike hire. All-in-all, it was a nice stay albeit that the beds were achingly hard!
