I have no info about fishing gear shops but there are sports equipment shops in all neighborhoods. They tend to be rather small shops. Use my tried-and-true communication method: Find someone at your hotel who speaks English to write down the characters for "Where to buy fishing gear? Please write directions on this paper." and then take a walk along the body of water where you want to fish. Hand the note and a pen to the first fisherman you find. He will be glad to write down the directions to the local fishing gear shop. Shanghai has water all over beside the obvious Pacific Ocean.
These carts are just waiting to haul huge piles of goods. The guys that drive these around must have incredibly strong legs as I've seen some very heavy loads being hauled with an old guy pedaling along. Such a hard life!!
There are several types of transportation around SHanghai but the most convenient would be to take a cab. The fare is relatively inexpensive and the drivers are honest, you pay what's reflected on the meter.
There are still alot of people who use the bike as their transportation... it's amazing seeing so many bikes lined up in the streets.
Take note that this is different from the Science museum most tourguides would bring you. The Science and Technology Museum caters to children or even adults still interested in new creations and optical illusion techniques. Outside this museum is an LRT line where you could find souvenir and RTw shops
If you go by tour, they will take you to a place that sells china's infamous tea: The Longjin(also known as LongJian) tea. its suppose ot be a very good for health. They even have pictures of Queen Elizabeth visiting the place.
Nice to look around and have a sip or two, but wouldnt recommend you guys to spend a fortune on it(apparently its quite pricey). When we bought our tea home, we realized our tea doesnt seem to have that strong fragant anymore.
