Hi, actually there are a lot of department store at Shanghai. Xujiahui is a nice place for purchaseing good quality things, including top brand fashion, bags, watches and so on. Besides, lots of nice restaurents located here too. There is another shopping paradise in Shanghai called Huaihai Road which is highly welcomed by young ladies. So please remember Shanghai is really a shopping paradise! Hope you happy shopping in Shanghai!

i think better don't purchase any branded from china. Their fake branded look so real. If want buy cheap product. can go to qi pu lu(whole sale market) clothing around 15-30 RMB

Xiangyang Market is the area for fakes. It is in the subway station under the Science and Technology building. I have more information here. http://members.virtualtourist.com/m/1e4db/f4fc8/c/

Travel Tips for Shanghai
Looking for Canada Goose or North Face?
by rugro about Xiangyang Gift And Fashion Market
Hundreds (or so it feels) of small stands selling lots and lots of jackets, boxer shorts, etc... Canada Goose, Versace boxers, The North Face, Game Boy Advance games, sports bags (to carry everything in...) This is the place to go if you're cold and in need of a really warm jacket/parka... Canada Goose Expedition Parka = 300 RMB
The North Face coat or jacket = 250 RMB
Pashmina scarves = 35 - 45 RMB (depending on thickness)
Canada Goose Vest = 150 RMB
The North Face ski suit, jacket and pants = 600 RMB (both pieces)
The North Face sports bag on wheels = 150 RMB

The fitment of restaurant is very special. There are no signboard and waiter at the door. Getting into the restaurant must through a narrow road then cross two black gates. No leader. So just walk in without doubt. The ambience is quiet and the fitment is simple.
Xiang Yang (Shan Young)...

Xiang Yang (Shan Young) Market. In addition to the clothes and bags of most markets, there is also a food and flowers section!
One difference I think you will notice between Beijing and Shanghai markets is the starting price. In Shanghai it starts more reasonably but the vendors aren?ft as willing to barter and will let you walk off. It wasn?ft as much fun bargaining in Shanghai and I bought very little :-(
Qibao
by Willettsworld
Located in the centre of Minhang District of Shanghai, only 18 kilometres (11.18 miles) from the downtown area, Qibao Ancient Town has a history spanning over 1,000 years. The town was built in Northern Song Dynasty (960-1126) and grew into a prosperous business centre during Ming (1368-1644) and Qing Dynasties (1644-1911). Qibao is the Chinese for 'seven treasures' and there are two popular theories about its derivation. The more reliable one says that the name originates from the Qibao Temple, famed for its good reputation. It was this that contributed to the growth of business and culture of the previously unknown town. The other theory seems more popular among the local people who tell folk tales about seven treasures. These were an iron Buddha made in Ming Dynasty, a bronze bell also dating from the Ming Dynasty but said to have mysteriously appeared from nowhere, a Gold Script Lotus Sutra written by an imperial concubine of the 10th century, a one-thousand-year-old Chinese catalpa tree, a jade axe, a gold cockerel and a pair of jade chopsticks.
Even though Qibao is quite nice to spend an afternoon at, for me it just seemed too tacky, touristy and didn't have a heart or any depth. It's now easy to get to by taking the metro on the newly opened line 9 but I had to take a taxi there and a bus back.
