You guys here are AWSOME!! So many good ideas and tips!! I could use a little help:
What are the best streets to sample food from vendors?
Are the vendors divided up by areas (EXAMPLES: Meats on Nan Jing, Soup Dumplings on Yunnan Road, Sea Food on Wu Jiang Road)?
What are your "Must try" (the stranger the better, or just the best tasting) favorites?
Should I just pick one street and walk it trying food as I go, or should I go from street to street by taxi to try the best from many areas?
I don't remember any particular street. But I seem to only eat street food in Shanghai outside of the main tourist areas. I like the pancake thing. They put egg on one side of it. You pay by the weight, how big of a peace you tell them to cut.
Be sure to try Dan Bing: a flour batter spread in a circle on a round cooking surface on which an egg is broken and similarly spread. To that is added, at varying intervals, fresh scallions, coriander, hot bean paste, sweet noodle sauce and a dough rectangle, fried to a tasty crunchiness.
They may also use chives, Hoisin sauce, mustard plant leaves and chili.

Most place you will find street food is near the rail road station or long distance bus terminals. If you want a "cleaner" version go to Yuyang Gardens where you can sample a list of local snacks
Shanghai is a great place to buy all kinds of stuff! Art supplies are cheap and plentiful. I bought some pretty nice scroll paintings for a cheap price. There are some expensive ones to. I guess it depends on the artist. I had wanted to buy a flag but never saw one that I liked.
somewhere in the New Old Town of Shanghai we came across this huge place with dozens of food stalls, tables and chairs. It was not so easy to decide, what to take, but finally we made our choice!
Lots of fun in there!!! And if you don't find exactly this place, there are so many in that area!
The bund gives you a feel like you're elsewhere-- Europe maybe.
Check out the tall buildings (HSBC, hotels) and thr Oriental Pearl Tower.

Yes, and this was how I felt while ambling in the Bund.
Finally I made it to one of the most fascinating place in China, the Bund. I was so amazed by beautiful architecture there. It was a cold CNY's Eve, not so many people in the street; thus, I took my time admiring the lovely place.
