What time are you arriving at Pudong airport?
How many of you are there and how much luggage do you have?
Do you understand any Chinese?

Last time when i visited Yiwu, i took a train from Shanghai. The train took about4.5hrs one way. Train is the cheapest mode of travel.

If you don't mind waiting, there's a direct bus from Pudong airport to Yiwu at 1650, fare 180 RMB. It takes about 4.5 hours to reach Yiwu.
Otherwise, you'll have to take airport shuttle no.7 (20 RMB/pax, journey time about 1-1.5 hours) or a taxi (around 150-180 RMB depending on traffic conditions) to Shanghai South train/long-distance bus station, in order to catch a train/bus to Yiwu.
There's a fast train D109/D112 leaving from Shanghai South train station at 1545 that takes exactly 2 hours to reach Yiwu, but I doubt you'll make it in time unless you take a taxi instead of the airport shuttle, AND have someone buy the ticket for you in advance. The train costs 97/116 RMB for 2nd/1st-class seats. Other trains do depart later, but they take longer to reach Yiwu, usually around 4 hours or so.
Otherwise, there're buses leaving from Shanghai South long-distance bus station (just south of the South train station) at 1605, 1645, 1825 and 1935. These cost 97 RMB and take about 3.5 hours to reach Yiwu.
That's a pretty comprehensive answer already. If you've any more queries, email me at ellyse99@yahoo.com and put "VirtualTourist" and your own username (eg ouden) in the subject line, thanks.
Travel Tips for Shanghai
finding some of Old Shanghai
by gkitzmil
Shanghai is quite a nice and very large city. Be sure to visit the hutongs or lilongs or small villages within the city where people still live more traditionally. Easy to do. Just go to the "Old Town" and take nice walks toward the river.
The historical visits UNDER the Oriental Pearl tower are quite nice and teach of old Shanghai. As in any city (London) use your head to be safe.
Huaihai Road.
by Guantanamera
Huaihai Road is the major avenue in Shanghai for all of your upscale shopping needs... This is where you will find the Gucci store, and the H?agen-Dazs, as well as a Porsche store that doesn't seem to have any cars for sale... There are also lots of restaurants to choose from, shopping malls, and an array of more affordable stores as well... This photo shows a section of Huaihai Road with Häagen-Dazs barely visible in the background...
Old Restaurant
by scfang about Shanghai Old Restaurant
One of the oldest restaurant in Shanghai serving good local food. The restaurant is located close to Yu Garden, usually after my visit to Yu Garden and finish shopping at the handicrafts shop, I will come to this restaurant. The restaurant is on the second floor of a hotel. Pork trotter
Eight treasures Duck
"Yi Duo Xi" Soup (bamboo shoot, salted pork and fresh pork)
spring bamboo shoot with soy source (season)
Beautiful Yu Yuan Garden
by bitbit
One of my most favorite attractions in Shanghai - the Yu Yuan Garden is a very beatiful ancient garden (400yrs old) full of traditional chinese buildings, old trees, ponds, bridges, sculptures and interesting rock formations. You will feel like you are being transported back in time to the old Shanghai. Tourists thronged Yu Yuan and cameras are heard clicking away non-stop for almost every spot in the Yu Yuan Garden is photo-worthy. The garden is open 08:30-17:00 daily.
Huge Metropolis with a Contrast
by althaus
"Ye Shanghai"
Ye Shanghai is part of the lyrics of a popular song in the 1950s during the time when Shanghai was a booming city. It literally means Night at Shanghai. Truly, the night scene in Shanghai is the best. This is a city that is the cover for China's new revolution. From the modern avantgarde design of its new international airport, you can take the Maglev train to the suburbs of the city. Tall skyscrapers loom in the horizon and reaching the core centre, you can feel the vibrancy of life .
As with all Asian cities, people here are busy and they show it by their brisk walking pace. Another similarity is the density. The city is packed and it shows especially in the evening along Nanjing Rd - the city's main pedestrian-only shopping street. Western fast food chains opens side-by-side along Chinese eateries.
Several worthy attractions remain in this megalopolis though. Take an nice panoramic view of the city from Jin Mao Tower or the Oriental Pearl TV Tower. In the future, the Shanghai World Financial Tower would have an observation deck too! Do this in the evening, where you can then take in the spectacular neon backdrop of the city. Another must-do is the walk along the bund, where you can feel the contrast between old and new with colonial buildings on one side and futuristic skyscrapers on the other. The old HSBC building is a nice touch where the wall frescoes and interior marbles have been restored to the grand ol' time.
Lastly, you can take a look at the Shanghai Museum, and walk around the People's Square. The museum is very well maintained and holds some good collections. With its location in the People's Square, there are also other places to visit such as the Shanghai Theatre, and the Urban Planning Centre for Shanghai City where you can see the model of the city being planned out for future use.
