Shanghai - A must!
by mistynyc
I have recently visited Shanghai and had the most amazing time. Not only is Shanghai a exciting and fun place to visit but there is so much to do. I used a company called Luxury Concierge China (who are based in Shanghai) and they made my trip one to remember. The organized everything for us and we saw a side to Shanghai that makes me want to go back as soon as I can. We ate amazing food at the Whampoa Club, had drinks at Glamour Bar, had a fantastic shopping itinerary planned for us with a guide, had our fortuned told by a local Taoist priest, tickets to the Literacy Festival, a tour of the Bund with a american tour guide that spoke shanghainese!, a bike trip around the french concession, our names put on the door at all the best clubs in town and so much more....China can be somewhat difficult to navigate, what with the language barrier and the overwhelming selection of somewhat cheesey shops/restaurants, but we had 5 days of perfect holidaying and i highly recommend people heading off to explore Shanghai before it looses it charm. I also recommend that travelers wanting a true Shanghai experience, use a local operator...it really does make all the difference. The food, the shopping....
Is this Shanghai's Fifth Avenue?
by cheezecake_deli about Huaihai Middle Road
The epicentre of today's shoppers' Shanghai has moved west, to Huaihai Middle Road (Huaihai Zhong Lu), the old Avenue Joffre and main thoroughfare through the old French Concession. Broad and leafy, the road is perpetually busy, home to not just shops and shopping malls, but many restaurants, office towers and apartments. The main shopping section stretches two kilometres, roughly between Huangpi Nan Lu and Shaanxi Nan Lu metro stations. The shops are quite a mix here - malls, supermarkets, individual stores and some street-side stalls. Sadly, the old Xiangyang Market has been closed down forever. Almost anything is available, from designer brands to discount stores! How much can you afford?

CRAZY SHOPPING

NANJING LU OR NANJING DONGLU is known to be the No.1 commercial street in Shanghai China. You must really see this for yourself how busy it gets specially during the Holiday seacon. If you like bargains, it's definitely for you. Mostly they sell shoes and clothes. Everytime that you bargain from the seller try to ask for half of the price.

"The Bund"
Shanghai isn't a city with a lot of touristy things to do. That's okay, as you can spend your time shopping or drinking.
The Bund is the name of the seawall on the west side of the Haungpu river.
"Nanjing Road"
Nanjing Road is a pedestrian shopping street.
"Old Town"
One of the best places to go for suveniors and custom tailored suits
