Bose/Sony noise cancelling headphones

by BeanBag109

Can I buy Bose/Sony noise cancelling headphones at the Cybermart at a REAL good price? I was told from a flight attendant that this is the place to go, and that they should cost about 200-300 yuan.

If you mean Sony MDR-NC series, they are much expensive than what the attendant told you.

Sony NC22 and NC40 cost abt 700 and 1000 yuan respectively, but you can buy a G94NC at abt 300 yuan.

Cybermart does have some cheap stock but I couldn't find Bose or Sony cheap and ended up getting them on sale from USA cheaper than I could in China. Go figure... Sensheiser (is that how it's spelt) ear bud noise cancelling phones were very cheap but of course they are not as good.

buying famous brands in China is a 'crap shoot' as in any shop they are quite possibly fake. Enjoy!

yes, but REAL good price means REAL knock offs!

Travel Tips for Shanghai

Nanjing Road shopping street

by sunnywong

Nanjing Road is 5 kilometers long with the east end at Huangpu river and west end connecting Yanan road. With a history of 150 years, it is the busiest street for shopping. On both sides of the street are hundreds of department stores, supermarkets, and various shops. Nanjing Road is a well-known paradise for shopping.

This might be cheating, but my favorite restaurant was an Italian restaurant near the French concession. It must have been because we'd been in Beijing for two months and had made sure we ate nothing but what the locals ate, but we splurged at this Italian place - had wonderful pasta (real pasta, not the Chinese-made Italian food), several bottles of GOOD wine, dessert, the works. It was basically a big food orgy but I think we deserved it after having eaten snails and everything else we tried there. Best dinner ever!
Umm otherwise try the big food market and get the hairy crabs or snails (that's what I'm eating in this picture - wouldn't you rather be eating pasta in pesto sauce?)

The Bund!!!

by cinthya_in_victoria

The Bund is Shanghai's landmark and it's also known as Zhongshan Lu.
The Bund was at the heart of the colonial Shanghai and on the other side of Huangpu River, there's the western commercial power and most of the old buildings are still in that place.

In the evening you can enjoy taking a ride in a small ship and have a magnificent view of the spectacilar lights of Pudong's modern skyline. That was one of the most beautiful views I have seen in my life!!!!

Fast paced, fascinating city

"Shanghai"

We took a 4 day trip to Shanghai, and greatly enjoyed it. There are plenty of interesting sites (and would be watch salespeople), and well as enough cheap eating, drinking and shopping to keep anyone happy.
