Access to/from Shanghai Metro stations Jin'An Temple and Zhongshan Park

by globalnomad888

Do either of these metro stations have direct access from train to street via either elevator or escalator?

From which of these two stations would I have the best chance of getting a taxi on Thursday evening at 17.30?

Zhongshan Park has metro access to the stree. I think Jin'An Temple will too. I have pictures of Zhongshan Park with my Shanghai tips but not the metro station.

if rains, wait for 1-2 hours for your taxi.

There are two Zhongshan Park Metro stations. For line 3 &4, elevated rail with escalator and "Disabled Elevator" but they mean "Elevator for disabled people". For line 2, underground with escalator.

I have never waited more than ten minutes for a taxi anywhere in China in my 4 years here. I live not far from Zhongshan Park and the 'hood is loaded with taxis due to the high perventage of westerners.

I've seen people waiting for the taxi in the rain for more than 20 minutes along Changning Road outside the metro station, actually more than 10 people waiting there. Hardly believe how to get a taxi within 10 minutes duiring the rush hour especially in the rainy days.

Travel Tips for Shanghai

Center of International Finance & Trade

by Sharrie

Most architecture on the Bund were built before 1937 & had not undergone much changes since. Presently, the Bund has become the center of international finance & trade.

Subway

by bojomacaraig

getting around the shanghai always take a subway ...they have plenty of lines. minimum fare is 3Yuan.

From Pudong International Airport to Pudong Area you can take the bullet train or the MAGLEV, then transfer to subway going to the old area of Shanghai to getting around.

Street Eat

by cheezecake_deli about Yunnan Nan Lu

Shanghai has a number of popular "food" streets. Yunnan Nan Lu is one of these, located between Yu Bazaar and People's Square. In the evening, the street is busy with diners and there are many choices of restaurants, cafes and stalls. I've tried several here, all of which have been reasonably good and value for money. This is a good place to experience local food at good prices.

Shanghai Park

by limledi

This is the best Shanghai Park I visited during our trip. It's a pity I wasn't able to take note of the name of the park. It's quite huge with lakes providing boating opportunities. Bikes are also available for rent. Nice views and scenery around. Plenty of trees and greeneries. Such cool place with fresh air. Perfect for family outings. There's a huge landmark structure that resembles a boat when you enter the park. I think it's somewhere south near Caobao where my cousin stays.

Shanghai, with a population of over 15 million people is the Mainland's fastest growing metropolis, even overpowering Beijing. With its interesting history as a Western port, Shanghai is a sophisticated mix of history, style & trends. It is set to catapult China into a prosperous 21st century & has become a showcase of China's ability to develop into a major economic power.
